The JAR Earclips
A pair of fabulous earclips by JAR
JAR stands for Joel Arthur Rosenthal, a highly acclaimed but very private American jeweler based in Paris. Renowned for his exceptional creativity and meticulous craftsmanship, JAR is often called the “Fabergé of our time.” His pieces are famous for their vibrant colors, intricate designs, and use of unique materials, often featuring pavé settings with thousands of tiny gemstones.
Unlike many luxury jewelers, JAR does not mass-produce or advertise his work. He only creates a small number of pieces each year, usually one-of-a-kind, often for high-profile clients and collectors. His work is considered so distinctive and rare that it’s displayed in museums, including a landmark retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2013. JAR’s approach to jewelry is artistic and unconventional, often blending inspiration from nature, history, and his own imagination, resulting in designs that are both bold and timeless.
